Refunds

Fourteen days, no questions asked. Email hello@verbatim.design with the payment id from your receipt and we refund it.

You do not have to justify it, and we will not ask you to try a workaround first.

What can be refunded

How to ask

Email hello@verbatim.design with the payment id from your receipt, which looks like pay_.... That is all that is needed; no form, no account, no reason required.

The refund is issued through Dodo Payments, our payment processor, back to the method you paid with. How long it takes to appear is up to your bank rather than up to us, and is usually a few working days.

What happens to the key

A refunded licence ends, and this is worth being straight about. Verbatim's keys are verified offline, against a signature, so that activating one contacts nothing and works with no network. The trade is that we cannot switch a key off remotely, and we are not going to add a phone-home check in order to be able to.

So a refunded key stops being licensed as a matter of these terms, not as a matter of software. Continuing to use the server after a refund is a breach of the licence rather than something the code will stop. We are telling you this because it is true, and because a policy that pretends otherwise would be the dishonest version.

The 24 hours before you pay

The server runs unlicensed for 24 hours from first run, with every tool working and no card involved. That exists so a refund is rarely the thing you need: it is easier to find out whether it is useful before paying than to unwind a payment afterwards.

After 14 days

Write anyway. If something is broken, or the product turned out not to do what this site said it does, that is our problem to fix and the date on the receipt is not the interesting part of the conversation.

Chargebacks

Please email before opening one. A chargeback takes weeks, costs both of us a fee, and gets you the same money that an email gets you in a day.
